James Martin (1985) is an American artist and animator based in Oslo, working under the name Studio Cartoons Deluxe. He works with hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animation and illustration, drawing from mid-century comics, music and retro cartoon aesthetics. Through dynamic lines, bold colours and playful references to sci-fi, fantasy and motorsport, he explores how familiarity and newness intersect. His work seeks to create energy, connection and an honest, tactile experience for the viewer.
