Collection: Willa Wathne
Willa Wathne (1995) is a Norwegian photographer whose work merges the raw immediacy of her documentary background with a vivid, constructed visual language shaped by pop culture and contemporary portraiture. Influenced by David LaChapelle, Lars Tunbjörk, Harley Weir and Charlie Chops, she creates images that balance stylisation with sincerity — scenes where the ordinary becomes electric, and emotion reveals itself through colour, texture and instinct.
Wathne’s practice is driven by curiosity and a continuous forward motion, trusting the gut as both compass and method. Her photographs often sit between the everyday and the surreal, inviting the viewer to see the world filtered through her gaze: intimate, humorous, at times confrontational, always human. Having spent ten years behind the camera, she now works in a hybrid of editorial, commercial and conceptual modes, building a universe where rawness is not an accident, but a deliberate form of truth-telling.
