Cecilia Riis Kjeldsen (1987) is a Norwegian photographer and artist based in Fredrikstad, working in the space between documentary and staged photography. Her practice examines the emotional and conceptual possibilities of the photographic medium, often moving between personal experience, observation and reflections on human relationships. Through a blend of photography, text, drawing, archival material and painting, she constructs works that hover in a state of suspension — holding space for contemplation, uncertainty and quiet emotional shifts.

Characterised by an interest in tactility, memory and the subtle tensions that exist between people, Riis Kjeldsen’s images invite viewers into atmospheres rather than narratives. Her exhibitions span institutions such as PREUS Museum, Vasli Souza, Fineart and Matca Artspace Romania, and she is represented by Fineart Gallery. Her work offers a pause — an invitation to sense what is present, fragile and unresolved.
