Esra Røise (1981) is a Norwegian illustrator and artist based in Oslo, known for a visual language that merges fashion sensibility with the intimacy of everyday observation. With formal training from Einar Granum School of Art and a BA in Visual Communication from the Academy of the Arts in Oslo, her practice moves between editorial, commercial and personal work. Røise draws from snapshot photography, impulsive cropping, awkward angles and fleeting gestures, capturing a sensibility that is both unpolished and deeply attentive to human presence.

Often inspired by the feminine form, nature, architecture and pop-cultural references, her illustrations balance melancholy, sensuality and playfulness. Through her delicate yet expressive linework, she explores emotional textures rather than narratives, inviting viewers into moments that feel familiar, vulnerable and quietly charged. At its core, her work is an invitation to feel — to stay curious, open and responsive to the beauty in small, unguarded scenes.
