Alberto Pelayo (1991) is a Mexican creative and image maker whose practice moves between photography, performance and conceptual construction. With an early foundation in painting and a background in industrial design, his visual language merges theatrical narrative with controlled aesthetics, balancing what he calls “the substance” — the story — with “the container” — the image itself. Pelayo’s characters often inhabit a space of heightened emotion, where drama, irony and fragility coexist in carefully staged compositions.

Drawing inspiration from human tragedy, ordinary anecdotes and the absurdity of everyday life, he transforms pain into dark humour, creating scenes that feel both surreal and disarmingly honest.
