Aija Vinkelmane-Dreiere Work #3 - Love Is In The Hair

Aija Vinkelmane-Dreiere (1984) I´m an artist from Riga based in Oslo. I graduated with a MA in Painting from the National Art Academy of Latvia. My works can be divided in to two categories thematically. One is a surreal almost dreamlike emotional and experience-based setting, dominant of female figures. The other is based on a composition of wild rhythms and patterns of different animals, this go way back to my childhood obsession with Riga Zoo, where I could meet all the exotic and colorful animals of the world. Back in Soviet times there was travel restrictions and this was my escape to the world outside the grey iron curtains.
